University of Waterloo International Students' Undergraduate Admission Requirements

University of Waterloo Admission Requirements For International Students

The University of Waterloo has an excellent online database that tells interested students the exact requirements they need to get into each program available at the university. Because each program has different requirements, you will need to search for the specific program(s) you are interested in to see exactly what you will need before applying.

There are also general requirements required for every international applicant. The specifics will depend on where you are applying from and what system you studied under. For general requirements for Chinese International A-Level students, read below.

 

General Requirements For Chinese International A-Level Students

From The University Of Waterloo:

  • “Passes in at least five unique subjects, three of which must be at the Advanced Level.

  • You must submit a Chinese graduation diploma verified by the China Credentials Verification (CHESICC-Parchment Portal) service.

  • Official transcripts/certificates of your GCSE/IGCSE, AS, and A level results must be submitted directly from the examination board to the Admissions Office.

  • The faculties of Arts, Environment, and Health as well as the Accounting and Financial Management and Architecture programs will not accept GCSE-level English as a Second Language in place of the academic English course required for admission.

  • Applicants admitted to programs in the faculties of Arts, Environment, Health, Mathematics, or Science will be given consideration for transfer credit for Advanced Level courses in which a minimum final grade of "B" is attained.

  • IGCSE and GCE (O-level) courses are assessed as equivalent for programs that require courses at the GCSE level.

  • For programs that require an A-Level Mathematics, Mathematics or Pure Mathematics are accepted.
